Bayern drop points for third consecutive match in Bundesliga which leaves them just a point above Union Berlin and 2 more than Leipzig. Since the return of the league post World Cup break, Bayern have failed to win all 3 points. The Bavarians have faced Leipzig and Frankfurt in 2 of their last 3 league fixtures which ended in draw. The title race at Germany is now wide open with only a point separating the top 4 teams.

Bayern drop points again

Nagelsmann’s side are yet to win a Bundesliga fixture since the restart of the league. The lead at the top of the table is reduced to just a point and the German top flight is heading towards an exciting title race. Bayern, Union Berlin, Leipzig and Freiburg are placed at top 4 with only a point difference each. The Bavarians are currently going through a result crisis. They are in need of a win in their next league fixture to boost their confidence and protect their lead. RB Leipzig increased the pressure after securing a 2-1 victory over Stuttgart at home. Union Berlin also continued with their impressive league run and bagged all 3 points away against Hertha. Freiburg convincingly won their fixture 3-1 against Augsburg.

Bayern were prepared for a litmus test in Frankfurt with other top of the table teams picking all 3 points. The hosts took the lead courtesy Leroy Sane’s goal. French forward Kolo Muani spoiled the party for Bavarians with his 69th minute equaliser. Nagelsmann’s side couldn’t find a winner as they dropped points for third straight league fixture. The league leaders face a stiff competition for their title charge as the points table is tight at the top. Union, Leipzig and Freiburg present themselves a rare opportunity to challenge for the league honour. Currently Dortmund are leading away against Leverkusen at half time. A win will bring them also into the mix of things making it a 5 way battle.
