It comes as no surprise that the legendary Sachin Tendulkar sits on top of the list. The former Indian cricketer has innumerable records and accolades to his name. One of the greatest to have ever graced the sport, Tendulkar has played in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from 1996-2013. In the seven years, Tendulkar has amassed a whopping 3262 runs from thirty four matches.

Tendulkar’s highest score was an unbeaten 241, which the Little Master scored in Sydney, in the 2004 edition.
Ricky Ponting
Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting is placed second on the list. Ponting has played in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy during the same time as Sachin. The former Australian batter featured in the series from 1996 to 2012.
During the period, Ponting has scored a total of 2555 runs from 29 matches.
VVS Laxman
VVS Laxman has enjoyed a healthy scoring record in the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Amongst the Indian batters, Laxman has registered the highest score in the series. In 2001, at the iconic Eden Gardens, Laxman set the stadium alight with.a solid 281.
Laxman sits third on the list of most runs, having scored 2434 runs from 29 matches. The Indian batter played in the Border-Gavaskar trophy from 1998 to 2012.
Rahul Dravid
Fourth on the list is current Indian coach Rahul Dravid. The Indian team is gearing up for the upcoming edition under the watchful eye of the former Indian cricketer. Dravid himself has been a force to reckon with and his exploits at the Border-Gavaskar trophy sees him sit fourth on the list of most runs.
Having played in 32 matches from 1996-2012, Dravid has scored a total of 2143 runs.
Michael Clarke
Making up the top five of the most runs scored in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy is Michael Clarke. The former Australian skipper is the only player to have scored a triple hundred in the series. Clarke’s 329 in Sydney is the highest score by a player in the tournament.
The former Australian batter was seen in action in the tournament from 2004-2014. Over the period of ten years, Clarke featured in 22 matches, with a total of 2049 runs.
