Brooklyn Nets Trade Kevin Durant to Phoenix Suns

Kevin Durant finally gets traded from the Brooklyn Nets. Phoenix Suns landed a deal to acquire the former finals NBA MVP and NBA Champion Kevin Durant ahead of the trade deadline on Thursday.

Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets before the start of the regular season. Kevin Durant was willing to pair up alongside Devin Booker. The Net’s management finally traded Kevin Durant after trading Kyrie Irving to the Dallas Mavericks. 

Kevin Durant’s was unexpected as Kevin Durant doesn’t believe in id-season trades but he finally got his wish. The Suns under new owner Mat Ishbia decide to acquire Kevin Durant to try and win a championship. 

Brooklyn Nets in return got Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder, Cam Johnson, 2023, 2025, 2027 and 2029 unprotected first-round picks and a 2028 pick swap.

Chris Paul, Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Deandre Ayton combined look like a deadly lineup. Phoenix Suns are 5th seeded in the Western Conference. The arrival of Kevin Durant to the valley also brings the hope of a championship to Phoenix. 

Kevin Durant is averaging 29.7 points shooting at 55.9% from the field and averages 6.7 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game. 

Can Phoenix Suns Finally Win a Championship by Trading for Kevin Durant

Kevin Durant pairing with Devin Booker and Chris Paul is a championship contender team. The Suns got depth in their squad. The Suns lost to Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs last season in a game 7 blowout. The year ago they were in the NBA finals leading the series 2-0 and handing out a 4-2 win to Milwaukee Bucks.

The suns are horrible when it comes to big games. Kevin Durant just gets better in the playoffs and big games. He won the finals MVP and a championship for Golden State Warriors alongside Stephen Curry. 

Kevin Durant is a perfect fit for the Phoenix Suns.  With the trade of Durant, the west is wide open and the competition is at an all-time high.

Guards – Devin Booker, Damion Lee, Chris Paul, Cameron Payne, Landry Shamet, Saben Lee. 

Forwards – Kevin Durant, TJ Warren, Darius Bazley, Josh Okogie, Torrey Craig, Ish Wainright. 

Centres – Deandre Ayton, Jock Landale, Bismack Biyombo. 

Brooklyn Nets get Forward Mikal Bridges

Mikal Bridges never expected that he would be traded by the suns. Bridges is the only player on the Sun’s roster to have played all the games and not miss a single game the whole season. Bridges’ productivity on the offensive end has skyrocketed this season. He is averaging 17.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game. He is shooting at 46.8% from the field and 38.7% from the three-point range. 

The Nets will be aiming to rebuild around Bridges or acquire another star player when available. The Nets are with a 33-22 win-loss record in the East. A playoff spot is all that the Nets will be aiming for at this point.

Guards – Spencer Dinwiddie, Ben Simmons, Edmond Sumner, Cam Thomas, Seth Curry, Patty Mills, David Duke Jr, Dru Smith. 

Forwards – Joe Harris, Royce O’neale, Yuta Watanabe, Dorian Finney Smith, Cam Johnson, Mikal Bridges. 

Centres – Nicolas Claxton, Dayron Sharpe.
