FA Cup 4th round had a high profile clash of Manchester City and Arsenal. City came out on top with a 1-0 win. Manchester United also progressed to the next stage and Liverpool walk out after conceding at injury time against Brighton. Sheffield United are currently playing their 4th round against Wrexham. Derby v/s West Ham and 5 replay ties are the only fixtures left to be played.

FA Cup 4th round
FA Cup 4th round kick started with Manchester City taking on Arsenal at Etihad stadium. Pep and Arteta made a few rotations to give a rest to their regular starters keeping the league fixtures in mind. Both the sides dominated with possession almost equally. The chances created were very much limited and in the second half Ake scored the only goal of the match. The Cityzens held onto their lead to knock out the competition’s record title winner Arsenal. Leicester City won by a goal away against Walsall. Leeds cruised to a 3-1 victory against Accrington Stanley. Southampton progressed with a 2-1 win over Blackpool. Bristol City scored three past West Brom. Tottenham also won by 3 goals away against Preston. Stoke City won 3-1 at their home against Stevenage.
Manchester United hosted Reading at Old Trafford. Red Devils won 3-1 against 10-men Reading thanks to a brace from Casemiro. United took a 3 goal lead with Fred’s goal and Reading were reduced to 10 men after Andy Carroll being sent off. Mbengue scored a consolation goal for Reading at 72nd minute. Defending champions Liverpool faced Brighton away in their 4th round fixture. Harvey Elliott scored the opener for Scousers at half hour mark with Lewis Dunk pulling a goal back for Brighton within ten minutes. Mitoma scored the winner at 90+2 with incredible control and finish. Wrexham are hosting Sheffield United currently and Derby faces West Ham on 30th January in the final fixtures of 4th round.

4th round replays
Five fixtures are heading to a replay at the current moment after ending in a draw. Sheffield Wednesday’s winning run came to a halt with a 1-1 draw against Fleetwood. Blackburn and Birmingham also have a rematch after their fixture ended at 2-2. Grimsby Town will host Luton Town and Burnley will take on Ipswich Town. Sunderland and Fulham will lock horns in a rematch after the initial tie ending in a 1-1 draw. 4 out of 5 fixtures are scheduled to be played on 7th February 2023.
