Kylian Mbappe

Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has revealed that a phone call with French President Emmanuel Macron was vital in convincing the forward to stay at Parc des Princes rather than join Real Madrid at the end of last season.

Mbappe’s future at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was protected for another three years in May 2022 after the sensational forward turned down an offer to join Real Madrid, which had enticed the Frenchman for months.

Although the 23-year-old chose to stay at Parc des Princes, fans are still curious about the critical aspects of Mbappe’s decision to turn down a big offer, including the role of French President Emmanuel Macron.

For the past two seasons, Kylian Mbappe has been rumored to be moving to Los Blanco’s, who won their 35th La Liga and 14th Champions League titles when rumors were widespread.

It has been a heart wrenching Champions League season for the France international, as PSG was eliminated in the last-16 round despite the forward’s performance.

He spoke about his decision to remain with PSG ahead of their Champions League 2022-23 match against Juventus in the French capital.

You never know what will happen. You’ve never been to [Real Madrid], but it appears to be your home, or something similar. “The 23-year-old told the New York Times about his future plans before admitting to the constant allure of the Los Blanco’s.

Kylian Mbappe has already stated that French President Emmanuel Macron influenced his decision to stay in France. According to reports, Macron’s telephone call was crucial in convincing the sensational forward to stay.

Now the young goal-scoring machine has revealed details of the phone call that was possibly the final nail in the transfer saga’s coffin.

“I never imagined I’d be talking with the president about my future in my career, so it’s something crazy, really something crazy.”

Mbappe said of Macron’s call.

“‘I want you to stay,’ he said,” I want you to stay now because you’re so vital to the country.'” Mbappe revealed “‘You have time to leave,’ he said. You are welcome to stay a little longer.

“Of course, when the president says something like that to you, it counts,” PSG’s star Kylian Mbappe added.

Mbappe’s current contract with PSG expires in 2025 when he will be 26 and still have a lot of time to attain his peak. Real Madrid could make a move for him in the future, and the attacker has stated that he is open to changing teams.

Further to his career goals, Mbappe stated that he wants to win the Champions League with PSG while also aiming for the Ballon d’Or.

“I believe I’m about to win the Ballon d’Or,” he said. “I always say that I have dreams about everything. I have no boundaries.

As you point out, it is a new generation. And you’re going to stop me, Ronaldo, and Messi. We need to find someone else, someone fresh “Finally, the Frenchman added.

Mbappe was already world class when he was 18 and played for Monaco. After his move to Paris he became much better though. It took him only two more seasons, to become the first teenager after Pele to score in a WC final and hit 30+ league goals in 18/19
