Juventus misery continues as they have suffered a shocking defeat at home against Monza. This is the second loss for Juventus against Monza, who are making their first appearance at Italy’s top flight league. Former Juventus player Raffaele Palladino coached this Monza side to a victory against Old Lady at Turin. The defeat puts Juventus at 13th spot in the league standings with 23 points.

Juventus misery in league continues
Juventus were up against AC Monza in matchday 20 of Serie A. The Italian giants who are pushed to the bottom half of the table due to Plusvalenza scam were looking to turn their fortunes in the league. AC Monza who are making their debut appearance in Serie A, arrived at Turin for the Bianconeri test. Allegri fielded his side in a 3-5-2 formation with Di Maria and Kean up front. Kostic and De Sciglio played as wingbacks to support attack and also offer defensive stability. Monza dominated the first half in terms of possession and was getting Juventus run off the pitch. Patrick Ciurria and Dany Mota scored at 18th and 39th minute respectively to give Monza a two goal lead. At the stroke of half time Juventus were trailing by 2 goals. Monza completely outplayed Allegri’s side in the first half of the fixture.
Juventus came out for second half as much improved side. The Bianconeri tried to salvage a point by attacking relentlessly but failed to score. Monza dealt the game with much composure and walked away with 3 points in the bag. Allegri since his return to Juventus has not been able to do what he was best at, to be strong defensively. Juventus have conceded 10 goals in last 3 games. Their spot at top 4 would have been a question mark even without point deduction. Pressure is mounting on Max Allegri as his side is going through a tough phase. His tactics and way of approaching games have come under scanner.

Struggling at bottom half of the league
With the defeat against Monza, Juventus are placed at 13th spot. Monza overtook Juventus with the victory and occupy the 11th spot. Old Lady are 14 points away from European spot as of current standings. It will require a consistent run of good results for Juventus to secure a place into top 6. Napoli are the runaway league leaders with 53 points, which is 13 clear of the second placed team.
