Brooklyn Nets got a perfect deal from Dallas Mavericks as the Mavs signed for Kyrie Irving before the trade deadline. Los Angeles Lakers were the frontrunners to acquire Kyrie Irving.

Brooklyn Nets demanded Los Angeles Lakers for Russell Westbrook, Austin Reaves, Max Christie and 2026,2028 first round picks for Kyrie Irving. The Lakers felt that was way to much for Kyrie. The professionalism of Kyrie Irving of him unwilling to sign a 2 year max contract is what made the Lakers back out.
Dallas Mavericks had a perfect deal for the Nets. Dallas got Kyrie Irving and Markieff Morris. In return Brooklyn Nets got Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney Smith, 2029 first round and multiple second round picks.
As per sources Kyrie Irving is eligible for a two-year extension worth in excess of $80. If he and Dallas look to continue the relationship beyond this season. After Kyrie’s trade the Dallas Mavericks have moved from +1900 to +1400 to win the NBA championship.

Kyrie Irving is expected to arrive for a physical on Monday in Dallas. He is set to make his franchise debut alongside Luka Doncic against the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday (10 PM ET) as reported by Adrian Wojnarowski.

Luka Doncic is the Mavs top performer of the season averaging career high 33 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and one block per game. Luka hasn’t had much support from rest of his teammates as a result Dallas lost quote a few close games. With Kyrie Irving joining forces with Luka Doncic, Dallas now has a secondary playmaker and shot maker. Kyrie’s on court experience makes Dallas a strong contender in the West.
