Kane Williamson is set to lead the side.
The likes of Finn Allen and Michael Bracewell have been handed the opportunity to compete in their first World Cup.
The squad picked for the World Cup will compete in a tri-series before the mega event in Australia next month.
New Zealand will battle it out against the likes of Pakistan and Bangladesh in a T20I series which will starts on the 7th of October.
The tri-series will witness seven matches between the three teams over a span of eight days.
It will serve as ideal preparation for the Black Caps before they depart for Australia on the 15th of October.
New Zealand will begin their T20I World Cup campaign against arch-rivals Australia in Sydney, on the 22nd of October.
Despite poor form in T20Is this year, veteran opener Martin Guptill managed to make it into the team.
This will be Guptill’s seventh World Cup.
Martin is on the verge of setting the record for most T20 World Cup appearances by a New Zealand player.
Trent Boult, who was released from his New Zealand central contract last month, has been named and will spearhead the attack.
The biggest absence from the squad is paceman Kyle Jamieson, who continues to recover from a back injury.
All the teams participating in the T20 World Cup 2022 were supposed to announce their final squad for the tournament about a week ago but some teams missed the deadline.
New Zealand Cricket had some final decisions to make even after the deadline and thus the Kiwis waited for the right moment.
They have now finally completed all permutations and combinations and have announced their squad.
