The rivalry between the two was reignited last week when Jericho attacked Danielson from behind after his match with Daniel Garcia. In turn, Garcia pushed his mentor away from his wrestling hero, leaving The Wizard confused and angry.
But Jericho had a chat with Garcia in the ring this week and ordered the latter to apologize for what he did to him last week, but the 23-year-old was torn.
Moments later, the American Dragon arrived to further confuse the young star, who eventually exited the ring.
A man-to-man argument ensued between Jericho and Danielson over who really is the best fighter in the world. The wizard said that he was tired of hearing Danielson testify and reiterated that he was the last surviving member of the Hart Dungeon.
The former WWE Undisputed Champion further emphasized that he is a “Lionheart” and knows all grappling and submission maneuvers. Danielson then finally challenged Jericho in the upcoming AEW All Out pay-per-view.
On September 4th, it will now be “Lionheart” Chris Jericho against “The American Dragon” Bryan Danielson. in Chicago, Illinois at AEW All Out.
The last time the two competed against one another in a single match was on the February 11, 2013 episode of WWE RAW.
The segment on tonight’s episode of Dynamite ended with Jericho reminding Danielson that he eliminated him on Double or Nothing. The American Dragon was blind-sided and attacked by Jake Hager.
