Kevin Durant has been on a role and is doing everything he can to revive Brooklyn Nets season. His teammates are now having the same mentality and the nets are finally looking at a lot more dangerous than they were at the start of the season.
In the game against Portland Trailblazers on Nov 17th, Durant opted to pass the ball rather than scoring the basket. KD had a clear and open path to dunk the ball but he rather chose to pass the ball. Ben Simmons later said to Kevin Durant which fired him up for the rest of the game.
“We ran a play out of the timeout where I fake and I’m going backdoor everytime. He threw the backdoor and I see somebody shift, I don’t know, I think it was [Drew] Eubanks or maybe it was [Jusuf] Nurkic who was in the game at the time and I kicked it to Joe [Harris] in the corner,” Durant said.
“He missed the shot and I look up, Ben Simmons was like, “Dunk the f**king ball!”
“I was like, ‘A’ight, my bad. I was open.’ He was like, ‘Yeah, dunk that s**t!’ I was like, ‘My fault, you right.'”
It is clearly unsure until now on why Kevin Durant passed on an open dunk rather than scoring a basket of his own. Durant scored 35 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal against Portland.
Ben Simmons is all fired up and he looks to be slowly getting his confidence back. Simmons scored a double – double against Portland. He scored 15 points, 13 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 block.
The Nets are currently 10th seeded in the Eastern Conference with 9 wins and 10 losses in 19 games. Nets will be in action on Nov 26th against Indiana Pacers.
