BTS band member and K-pop star Jeon Jung Kook is all set to perform at the opening ceremony of the 2022 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony in Qatar. The official twitter handle of BTS confirmed the news of their member Jung Kook performing at the opening ceremony of the football carnival.

Reports confirm that Jung Kook has also contributed to the FIFA World Cup track ‘Light the Sky’.
Opening ceremony at Al Bayt stadium
The opening ceremony of 2022 FIFA World Cup will begin at 7.30 pm IST on November 20, 2022. Al Bayt Stadium, the venue of the opening fixture Qatar v Ecuador will host the opening ceremony as well. The stadium of 60,000 capacity is located in Al Khor, 35km to the north of Doha.

The opening ceremony of football’s grandest spectacle is around the corner. It will be a star studded affair like any of its previous editions. The hosts haven’t released a full list of the performers for the opening ceremony. BTS has posted an official confirmation regarding Jung Kook’s performance at Qatar.
While there are speculations about the list of performers, Bollywood diva Nora Fatehi appeared in FIFA official track “Light the Sky”.
She is expected to be performing on the night of opening ceremony. There are reports circulating that Shakira and Dua Lipa are among the list of performers. While Shakira hasn’t confirmed or denied such reports, Dua Lipa has denied reports that she will be performing at Qatar.
Dua Lipa denying reports about opening ceremony performance
The 27-year old London born singer said she would perform at Qatar only if their human rights record improves. Dua Lipa took to her instagram writing : “There is currently a lot of speculation that I will be performing at the opening ceremony of the world cup in Qatar. I will not be performing and nor have I ever been involved in any negotiation to perform. I will be cheering England on from afar and I look forward to visiting Qatar when it has fulfilled all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup.”
Artists expected to perform at opening ceremony
Black Eyed Peas, J Balvin and Nigerian music sensation Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie are among the list of artists to perform at opening ceremony. The organisers are yet to confirm about these artists performing. Rumours state that Shakira will perform at opening ceremony. This will be the 4th performance of Shakira at the tournament if she performs at the opening ceremony. Previously she had performed in 2006, 2010 and 2014 world cup.
