Mitchell hit a two point jumper with 3.0 left on the game clock to tie the game 130-130. The game headed overtime. Mitchell scored 13 of the 15 points in overtime winning the game for the Cavs. He shot at 53.4% from the field. Mitchell hit 7 three pointers, 22-25 shots from the field and 20-25 from the free throw line.
Donovan Mitchell is now the record holder for scoring most points in a single game in franchise history. Mitchell’s 71 point game is the only time a player has managed to score more than 70 points in a game since Kobe Bryant ‘s monstrous 81 point record scoring game.
Kevin Love starting the game scored a double double for the cavs with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Jarrett Allen ended the game with 21 points, 8 rebounds.

De Mar Derozan scored 44 points, 3 rebounds, 4 rebounds, 1 block and 4 steals in the game. Nikola Vucevic records yet another double double scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. Zach Lavine ends the game with 26 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

“This is nuts, to be honest,” said Mitchell, who had 55 of his points after halftime. “I’m extremely blessed and humbled that I’m in that company, in that group. I’ve always believed I can be one of the best players in this league, but I’ve got to keep working. This is a big milestone, but at the end of the day, those guys have all won at the highest level. That’s my ultimate goal.”
