The talented midfielder signed his first professional contract with the Catalan club in September 2020. Due to his talent, Gavi had an upgrade in his ranks and played at the under-19 level while his other teammates were part of the under-16 team.

Gavi’s playing style is often referred to as that of Barcelona’s current manager, Xavi. He possesses great skills at initiating counter-attacks.
Gavi the future star of Barcelona
At just 18 years of age, he has already appeared in Spain’s national squad. During the 2021 Nations League Finals against Italy, Italian left-back Emerson Palmieri praised the player by saying he “has huge potential.”
But now Speculation has surrounded Gavi’s future at the club due to his current contract at Barca set to expire at the end of this season.
Since last November, the midfielder has been tipped to join Chelsea, Manchester United, and Liverpool on numerous occasions. However, it seems as though the La Masia graduate has opted to stay put for the time being.
According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish giants Barcelona are on the verge of confirming a new deal for the Spain international that will run until 2026 and have a sizable release clause that will stand at €1 billion. The 18-year-old central midfielder has a current market value of €60 million.
