The 10 IPL franchises have been asked to submit their list of retained players by November 15, the franchises can bid for players in the upcoming auction with the balance amount left after what they spent during the last mega auction and also with the amount they get after releasing the players they want to give back to the auction pool. Here is a list of some of the players being retained and released before the mini-auction scheduled to be held in December.

Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Dwane Bravo who was CSK’s go-to death bowler has been released by the franchise. Ambati Raydudu is the other player CSK has decided to let go. Both these have put some valuables contribution to the success of CSK and will be hot picks of other teams in the upcoming auction.
Sun Risers Hyderabad (SRH)
Kane Williamson who led the side last season has been released by SRH. The aggressive wicket-keeper batter Nicolas Pooran has been released by the franchise on the back of a poor IPL season and dismal performance in the recently concluded T20 World Cup. Fazalhaq Farooqi and Karthik Tyagi are the other two players that SRH have decided to let go.
Kolkatta Knight Riders (KKR)
KKR have retained Alex Hales after his recent performance in the T20 World Cup, Aaron Finch who has been in poor form in the last few months has been released by KKR. Shardul Thakur, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Lockie Ferguson will be seen playing for KKR as they have been traded into the side.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
Jason Holder, Evin Lewis, Andrey Tye and Manish Pandey have been released by the franchise due to their poor performances last season. Both the West Indians couldn’t live up to the expectations. Andrew Tye warmed the bench most of the season it’s a good move to release him with the bowling unit looking sorted. Manish Panday was replaced by Deepak Hooda halfway through the season and cemented his spot in the XI, Panday got a few opportunities last season but couldn’t capitalize.
