The NBA on Tuesday announced the player of the month for the games played in December 2022. Luka Doncic dominated the NBA in the month of December scoring a career high 60 points against the New York Knicks.

Doncic averaged 35.1 points, 8.5 rebounds, 9.3 assists and 1.6 steals in 15 games in December. December also marked the highest scoring record in the history of the franchise. Dallas closed out the month on a 6 game winning streak on the back of dominant performances by Luka Doncic and Christian Wood.
He scored 30 plus points in 12 of the 15 games played in December, including 50 plus point games on three occasions. Luka recorded three triple doubles in the month of December. His scoring on both offensive and defensive end of the floor won him back to back Western Conference player of the week awards.
Luka’s stand out performance was against the Knicks where he reached a new career high 60 point mark. Luka Doncic recorded a monstrous triple double scoring 60 points, 21 rebounds, 10 dimes, 2 steals and one block. Dallas won the game 126-121. Doncic also became the 1st player in NBA history to score 60 points and grab 20 rebounds triple double.

Luka Doncic is only the 2nd player ever to post a 60 point triple double. He surpassed Dirk Nowitzki’s franchise record of 53 points.
Doncic scored more than 50 points in the three of his last 5 games in December. In total he scored 228 points, grabbed 56 boards and 51 assists. Luka becomes the 1st player in NBA history to total 225 plus points, 50 plus rebounds and 50 plus assists over any 5 games.
Luka Doncic wins the NBA Western Conference player of the month award for the third time in his career. Dirk Nowitzki is the only other Maverick to win the award on multiple occasions in his 21 year NBA career.
