NBA Trade Rumors: The Lakers are always the frontrunners when it comes to trade Rumors. The recent rumors were surrounded around the LA Lakers interested in trading Patrick Beverly and Kendrick Nunn for Evan Fournier, Cam Reddish and Bojan Bogdanovic.
According to NBA executives the LA Lakers are interested in trading Russell Westbrook for Bradley Beal & 1st round picks. Westbrook was part of Washington Wizards playing alongside Beal in the 2020-21 season, before he got traded to LA Lakers in a blockbuster trade.
Westbrook failed to cope up with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. His graph fell down drastically after getting traded to the LA Lakers in 2021. The 9x All star started becoming a huge problem for the violet and yellow since his arrival.
LA Lakers tried to trade Russell Westbrook in the off season but many teams were not interested in getting the master of Triple Doubles.
Zach Lowe comments on LA Lakers trade possibilities
The report of the Lakers planning to trade Westbrook has created a lot of buzz. In a recent episode of ” The Lowe Post”, NBA insider Zach Lowe addressed the chatter. While discussing the possibilities of a trade between the Lakers and Wizards Lowe said
“I asked through the lens of like, ‘Is Russ and the two unprotected picks, is that fair value for Bradley Beal?’ And if you asked 25 people around the league, you would get everything from… you’d get some people saying, ‘Oh my god no, Bradley Beal is a top 25 player, multiple-time all-NBA player.
That’s not even close to requisite value for Bradley Beal.’
“And then you’d get another group of people who’d be like, ‘Honestly, anything the Wizards can get to get off of that contract, they should probably do it.’”
Lowe’s reports suggest that the executives were interested in such a trade but the main point of concern is does the trade benefit the Wizards and Beal’s salary cap.
Beal signed a five year contract extension with the Wizards and LA Lakers trading for Beal would increase the burden of cap space, while Westbrook is on an expiring contract which draws a ton of attention and money.
