NBA Trade Rumors: According to numerous reports from inside sources the LA Clippers are looking for a backup centre. There were rumors of the Clippers interested in trading for Myles Turner, but new reports surfaced off late.

Eric Pincus from Bleacher Report said that the LA Clippers are interested in trading for San Antonio Spurs center Jakob Poeltl.

“The San Antonio Spurs (9-18) round out the list of bottom-performers/top-lottery contenders. Does center Jakob Poeltl fit into their long-term plans? He’ll be an unrestricted free agent this summer and could be the best available center at the deadline.

Teams like the Clippers, Warriors and Lakers may have an interest. Additionally, sources indicate the Spurs have made veterans Josh Richarson and Doug McDermott available.”
Earlier in the season Golden State Warriors reportedly had an interest in trading for Poeltl. At this point there is competition for the big man and his value increases once the trade deadline approaches.
Jakob Poeltl is roughly earning $9.3 million this season and will be an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. He could be a good value for teams that are in need of backup centres on title contender teams.
LA Clippers got a ton of problems this year despite having Kawhi Leonard back. The team combination is something that is bothering them. They are one of the worst teams on offense this season ranking at 30th position in Points per game.
The LA Clippers including Poeltl is averaging 12.8 points and 9.8 assists per game this season and shooting at 64% can boost the clippers offense.
The big question is who would the Clippers trade for Poeltl and can Poeltl really bolster the Clippers offense. It will be an interesting one to follow as the Clippers hunt for a backup centre.
