Portugal are up and running in the FIFA World Cup 2022, as they pick up their first win against Ghana (3-2) in a highly contested match. Cristiano Ronaldo creates a unique record as he becomes the 1st player to score a goal in 5 different World Cups.

Portugal dominated the entire first half but managed to score a goal against the African nation Ghana. Both teams head into the halftime with a 0 – 0 scoreline. Ghana was pretty good on defense. They didn’t allow Portugal’s star forwards to score a goal.
Ronaldo sets the game up for Portugal in the 2nd half as he scores a goal in a penalty conversion in the 65th minute and etched his name in the history books. The goal was Ronaldo’s 118th goal in international matches representing Portugal.
Ghana equalized the score in the 73rd minute. The Caption of Ghana Andrew Ayew scored the 1st goal for Ghana and levelled the score. After Ayew’s goal Portugal struck back with two goals in quick succession to take the lead.

Joao Felix scored the 2nd goal of the match in the 78th minute and Rafael Leao coming as a substitute scored the 3rd goal in the 80th minute as Portugal seal the game.
With two minutes of regulation time on the clock Osman Bukhari scores a goal and puts huge pressure on Portugal. Ghana took the game to an additional 9 minutes but couldn’t close out the game as Portugal managed to survive 9 minutes and are off to a winning start.
Ghana fought really hard and gave a tough fight to the strong contenders of the world cup. With the win Ronaldo’s men now top the group with three points. Portugal’s next game is against Uruguay on Monday, while Ghana squares off against South Korea.
