Tottenham Hotspurs 6 – 2 Leicester City. The score line could be concluded as a dismissal letter for the Leicester boss, Brendon Rodgers.
It was the perfect start to this encounter. Leicester won a penalty in the first few minutes, which was missed, retaken, and then scored. Harry Kane quickly leveled for Spurs with a header following a Dejan Kulusevski cross.
Spurs then took the lead thanks to an Eric Dier header from a corner that was taken by Ivan Perisic. This was the 2nd league goal of the season for Dier. And the pundits were immediately suggesting that he should expect a call from Gareth Southgate soon.

Minutes before the halftime whistle, James Maddison’s fantastic volley brought Leicester back into the game. But the 2nd half was all about the Tottenham Hotspurs. Bentancur dispossessed Ndidi and drove the ball forward before delivering a great finish into the bottom right-hand corner.
Tottenham Hotspurs were not at all concerned about protecting their lead; they wanted to extend and were hungry for more. Spurs boss Antonio Conte brought Son Heung Min at the 59th minute of the game. Son was goalless in the league for the last 6 fixtures.
Just 12 minutes after coming on, Son scored a screamer he scored from 25 yards. 5 minutes before the final whistle Son received the ball from Kane on the edge of the box, he shifted the ball onto his left foot, and sent a beauty into the top left corner!
That’s it, 5-2, the Spurs killed the game. However, Heung Min Son was not done. An absolutely unstoppable finish from 25 yards out gives Heung Min Son scores his first goal of the season. Can’t decide which goal was better. One screamer from the distance on his right, one screamer from the distance on his left!
He ended his goal drought by scoring another and making it 6-2.
Heung-min Son spoke to the BBC after the game:
“I couldn’t believe it [when I scored]. All the frustration and what I had, disappointment and negative feeling just went. I couldn’t move so I stood still. It made me really happy.
“Football is crazy sometimes. Sometimes the ball didn’t want to go inside and three times [it did today]. It changes everything. I learned so much in this tough period. I need to work hard every time to get the chance. “Three lucky goals and I’m really proud.”
