The Spanish basketball giants Real Madrid clinch their sixth title in the Supercopa league after defeating the rivals Barcelona in overtime. Walter Tavares won the finals MVP award for his record breaking double double.

Barcelona center Sertac Sanli troubled Real Madrid early in the first quarter scoring 8 straight points from the field. Madrid had no answers to Sanli’s offensive display.

Barcelona after an early flurry of points were trailing by 2 at the end of 1st quarter. Barca were on the attack in the 2nd quarter as they targeted the paint to score basket’s.
Argentinian International Nicolas Laprovittola put on a display of his skills as a point guard assisting Jan Vesely and Rokas Jokubaitis as Barca heading into halftime were ahead of Real Madrid by 8 points.

Real Madrid Teka trailing by 8 points exploded in the second quarter. Tall center Walter Tavares finally made his presence felt with two back to back blocks and Guerschon Yabusele scoring field goals. Sergio Lull coming of the bench hit three 3 point shots and bang Real Madrid regained the lead.
Real Madrid looked unstoppable towards the backend of the 3rd quarter. Madrid ahead by 7 points at the end of 3rd quarter. Dzanan Musa led the comeback for Madrid.
Sertac Sanli back on the court in the 4th quarter once again put Barcelona ahead.
Nicolas Laprovittola recorded double double digits in Points and assists. Walter Tavares looked unstoppable on the offensive end with his layup’s. Sanli with 4 fouls was sent back to the bench and Jan Vesely replaced Sanli couldn’t make an impact as he was fouled out with 4 minutes left in the 4th quarter.
Veteran Mike Tobey brought Barca back into the game with a three point shot and a two point all oop layup to tie the score 71-71 at the end of 4th quarter. Gabriel Deck missed the final shot from the 3 point range.
Real Madrid finish Barcelona in Over time
The game ended into overtime and Madrid just didn’t give any chance for Barcelona to make a comeback. Walter Tavares blocked two shots one from Nicolas Laprovittola and Sertac Sanli to seal the deal.
Tomas Satoransky’s shooting foul put Madrid ahead and from there on Madrid just dominated the last two minutes to finish the game.
