Asia Cup 2022: Match 5 Preview

Bangladesh

Bangladesh have a number of issues, including an unsettled top order and a an inexperienced fast bowling attack against Afghanistan. Mosaddek Hossein was the only one who stood out with the bat, and the team will look to their captain Shakib al Hasan to lead from the front.

Shakib Al Hasan

“I have no goals. My only aim is that we can do well in the (T20) World Cup and these are the preparations for it. If someone thinks that I can change things within one or two days or that someone else will come to change it, then we are living in a fool’s kingdom.”

“If you are able to think practically, our true development will be seen when the team really does well in the World Cup in three months’ time”

Sri Lanka

The batters struggled in their first game, and it is up to them to save them in this one. The game will be played in Dubai. To bring their bowlers into the game, the batsmen must score between 160 and 170 runs. This is a game that the team must win. A loss to Bangladesh would be the end of their Asia Cup 2022 campaign.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, lacked intent  in their first game, despite having a lot of match winners in their lineup. Bhanuka Rajapaksa looked solid at the crease, but the bowlers will have to deliver far more.
