After being invited to bat, Shubman Gill continued his rich vein of form as he put up a sizzling opening stand with skipper Rohit Sharma. Gill along with skipper Rohit put up a 200+ opening stand to set the hosts up for a big total. With the ODI World Cup set to get underway this year, India will be happy with the show of both openers. As captain Rohit continued his return to form with a solid 105 off 85, Gill hammed a 78-ball 112.
The Kiwi bowlers were left clueless as India posted 212 off 157 for the opening partnership. Though Jacob Duffy and Blair Tickner put the brakes on India’s innings, pocketing three-wickets each, the openers had done the damage.

In reply, the Kiwis lost opener Finn Allen for a duck. But that did not set the visitors back as they had a centurion of their own. Devon Conway top-scored in the match, hammering a 100-ball 138. But it wasn’t enough for the visitors as they lost regular wickets at the other other.
The Indian bowlers put up a clinical display to bowl New Zealand for 295 in 41.2 overs. For India, player-of-the-match Shardul Thakur turned in solid figures of 3/45 in six overs. Kuldeep Yadav let ample support to Thakur as he too turned in a three-wicket haul. Yuzvendra Chahal picked up two wickets as Hardik Pandya and Umran Malik pocketed a wicket each.
Thakur and Yadav’s three-wicket haul saw India wrap up a comfortable 90-run win over the visitors in the end. The win in Indore saw India clinch a 3-0 ODI series sweep over New Zealand.
