England’s left-hand batter Dawid Malan went off-field midway through the match against Sri Lanka. The batter had pulled his groin muscle and has been under observation ever since, he missed the semi-final against India and will also miss the finals against Pakistan.

Who will come as his replacement?
England has already made a decision regarding Malan’s inclusion in the squad and Phil Salt will be his replacement. Salt who was listed to bat at number 3, didn’t get the opportunity to bat against India as the openers finished the game with a 10-wicket victory.
England management is out of options when it comes to batters, Salt being the only batter in the reserve aside from pacers Tymal Mills, Chris Jordan and David Willey.

The Lancashire star has been unable to feature in the squad so far in the T20 World Cup 2022. But will likely slot in if Malan does not prove his fitness before the finals.
Malan also has been unable to fire in the tournament and only has a high score of 35.
Salt is predicted to feature as the number three batter but could also bat at the middle order if Jos Buttler decides to alter the batting lineup.
