Paris Saint Germain’s Spanish centre back Sergio Ramos discussed about his relationship with Messi and described it to be a privilege to play alongside him. The duo joined PSG in the summer of 2021 after battling out against each other for 16 years at Spain.

Fierce Rivals to Teammates
The world of football has witnessed many duels and the Messi v Ramos will be there on top. While Messi moved up ranks from La Masia to the Barca senior team, Ramos joined Los Blancos from Sevilla. These both have faced each other on many occasions and gave memorable moments in El Clasico. Ramos and Messi face-to-face literally in 2018/19 season’s El Clasico. They were the captains of their respective clubs which shares a very intense and long standing rivalry. Ramos and Messi becoming teammates was a twist that no one expected to face.
Ramos about his relationship with Messi
“It’s something that I think generates curiosity in everyone.” Ramos said when asked about his relationship with Messi. He added, “But in the end, we are players who have the same objective, which is to win with Paris Saint-Germain, and to make the team great. My relationship with Messi is excellent. There is great respect between the players and a healthy state of mind.”

“Whenever you are given the choice of having Messi with or against you, the answer is quick and sincere. Leo continues to perform at the highest level. [Messi] is still one of the most decisive players in the world and one of the best, it is a privilege to have him in the team.
