India vs South Africa: Shikhar Dhawan is likely to lead India in the upcoming ODI series against South Africa per the reports by a BCCI insider.

Dhawan has not been part of the T20 squad and is unlikely to make it to the Men’s T20 World cup squad. Shikhar has led India in the recent past in the ODI series against West Indies. His consistent performances in the IPL and in ODI’s he has been not considered for the Men’s T20 World cup.
Shikhar Dhawan is the first choice captain for the home series against South Africa Rohit Sharma will lead the team in the T20I series. Players part of the Men’s T20 World cup squad will not be part of the ODI series.
Head coach Rahul Dravid will be unavailable for the ODI series against South Africa. In Dravid’s absence VVS Laxman be the Head Coach of the team.

The eight edition of the Men’s T20 World Cup will commence from 16th October to 3rd November in Australia. India will start their T20 World cup campaign against Pakistan on October 23.
Before the mega event India will play two T20 international series against world champions Australia and South Africa.
South Africa tour of India T20 series will start from September 28 and will end on October 4th. The ODI will commence from October 6th.
