The much anticipated Indian Premier League auction is all set to take place in Kochi on December 23. The event will be a mini-auction unlike the previous mega auction where franchises had to build their teams from the very beginning.

A lot of teams need to strengthen their bowling and as they are playing at home, the players picked will be based on the kind of pitch they have in might at home venues.
The franchises will participate with their leftover purse from last year. In addition to that the teams will have an additional purse of INR 5 crore. Making the overall auction pure a whopping INR 95 crore.
The player pool will be finalised by early December, after franchises submit their list of released players. Unlike the auction last year, this year’s ‘mini-auction’ will be wrapped up in one day.
