Dasun Shanaka will lead the side with Sri Lanka high on confidence after winning the Asia Cup.
The Sri Lankan team management hasn’t tweaked the side that won the Asia Cup recently. They will rely on spinners Wanindu Hasranga and Maheesh Theekshana to do the job in the middle overs.

Pathum Nissanka, Danushka Gunathilaka, and Kusal Mendis form the top-3. The middle order will boast the likes of Rajapaksa and Shanaka, who are the in-form players.
Dushmantha Chameera will make a comeback on the pitch. Chameera missed the Asia Cup due to an injury, and he will add some extra pace to the bowling attack.
Ashen Bandara, Praveen Jayawickrema, Dinesh Chandimal, Binura Fernando, and Nuwanidu Fernando are the stand-by players in the squad.
“If they take the confidence of what they achieved in the last (T20) World Cup and then now at the Asia Cup, I think they shouldn’t be looking at anything other than going all the way and winning the World Cup,” Jayawardena said
Sri Lanka has just two warm-up games in Melbourne prior to their opening clash at the T20 World Cup. Sri Lanka starts their T20 World Cup campaign against Namibia, Netherlands, and UAE before the Super 12.
“The start of the World Cup is going to be very crucial for them as they need to get the momentum and get themselves adjusted to the conditions,” Jayawardena added [Via ICC-Cricket.com]
